Supporting Emotional and Mental Health
At our school, we believe that emotional wellbeing and positive mental health are fundamental to children’s happiness, development and success. We are committed to creating a safe, supportive environment where every child feels valued, understood and able to flourish.
As a trauma-informed school, we foster a culture of warmth, trust and positive relationships. By prioritising connection and belonging, we help children develop the confidence, resilience and emotional skills they need to thrive.
Our Emotional and Mental Health Graduated Response document outlines the support available to pupils and how we respond to different levels of need. This document can be viewed in the attachments section of this page.

Named Emotionally Available Adults
As part of our Tier 1 Universal Offer, every child from Year 1 onwards has access to a Named Emotionally Available Adult.
This is a trusted member of staff chosen by the child, someone they feel comfortable talking to when they need support. The named adult will check in with the child regularly, particularly if concerns arise or if a child appears to be facing challenges. Pupils are encouraged to seek out their named adult whenever they feel they need someone to talk to.
This approach helps ensure that every child has a trusted adult in school who knows them, listens to them and supports their emotional wellbeing.
