I have been a Parent Governor since November 2022. I have three children; two of which currently attend the school and one that will be joining next year. Since my eldest joined I have also been a member of the PTFA. At university I read Business Management and Law, by profession I’m a Chartered Marketer, specialising in branding and product development, I’ve worked in the commercial world for the last 15 years and currently hold a managerial role in the pharmaceutical industry.
I’m passionate about the children’s education and wellbeing and am keen to further support the school as a Governor in providing the best possible learning environment for all the children at Kedington Primary Academy.
I have been a Parent Governor since April 2021. I have two children at Kedington Primary Academy, one who has just started in Reception and one who is about to leave Year 6.
I am an Operations Finance Manager at Cancer Research UK, Cambridge Institute which is a department within the University of Cambridge. My team, along with the grants team, are responsible for the smooth running of the Institute’s diverse portfolio of funding held within our scientific research community.
We moved to the area 7 years ago and have always really enjoyed the community feel within Kedington Primary Academy. I am very excited to become part of the team of Governors supporting such a wonderful school.
In my spare time I like to do all things creative, including baking, papercrafts, interior design and upscaling furniture.
Jane is executive headteacher across two local Unity Schools Partnership Schools.
Chris a the rector of six local parishes that make up the Stourhead Benefice.
Carlo Marrone
We moved to Kedington a year ago from North London and are really enjoying village life. I worked in the IT industry for over 35 years before retiring. My hobbies include my allotment, cooking and football , watching rather than playing these days. |
I finally retired in February 2020 after serving 32 years in local government in Kent until 2008. Since that time I have had a few jobs in particular when we moved to Suffolk in 2011. Previously in Kent I had been a primary school governor so when I read the details about being a governor at Kedington Primary Academy I contacted the Chair of Governors.
I enjoy being a governor and have responsibility for SEND.
Outside of school life I enjoy music, gardening and walking Jim our energetic Jack Russell plus home life with my wife Gill.

Local Governance at Unity Schools Partnership
The UnitySP Trust Board, through the Articles of Association, has committed to Local Governing Bodies to work in partnership with the Executive and Leadership Teams to fulfil the three core responsibilities of Governance.
These are:
- Holding the headteacher to account for the educational performance of the school and its pupils;
- Ensuring clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction;
- Overseeing the financial performance of the school and making sure its money is well spent.
We have married these to our Governance Charter and our Scheme of Delegation. These documents, together with the USP Handbook for Local Governance, clearly set out the role and responsibilities of our Local Governing Bodies (LGBs). You can access these documents from the links below or directly from the Unity Schools Partnership website.
